Installing DocuTech Print Drivers

* Note - you may need your Windows® 98 Installation CD

Print Page

  1. From the Windows® Start Menu, select Settings.
  2. From the Settings Menu, select Printers.
  3. Double-click on the Add Printers icon.
  4. Click on Next to start the Add Printer Wizard.
  5. Choose Local Printer, then Next.
  6. In the Manufacturers section, select Xerox. In the Printers section, select the Xerox DocuTech 135 PS2 printer. Then click Next.
  7. From the Port list, click File, then click Next.
  8. Type a name for this driver, then click Next.
  9. At the Print a Test Page prompt, click No, the click Finish.

At this point, you may be prompted to insert a Windows® 98 CD-ROM. Insert the CD and follow the instructions. Consult your system administrator if you do not have access to this CD.

Configuring Print Drivers

  1. Return to the Printers window (Start>Settings>Printers).
  2. Right-click on the printer you named during installation.
  3. Choose Properties.
  4. Under the PostScript option, set the PostScript Output Format to Optimize for Portability.
  5. Under the Fonts option, select Always Use True Type Fonts.
  6. Under the Fonts option, select Send True Type Fonts As and Bitmap.
  7. Close this dialog box.
