JPS Graphics’ purpose is to enrich lives by producing physical learning materials. We’re a multi-generation, family-owned business that has been a staple of the Dallas-based printing community for over 40 years. What started decades ago as a start-up retail, storefront print shop is now an at-scale manufacturing plant that produces over a million books per year plus other print-related materials.

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for someone to be our Swiss army knife of all things HR. You will not only improve our company culture, but help us reach our growth goals in the upcoming years. This role is a full-time position in which you will lead our human resource efforts. Sales and operations leaders will look to partner with you to ensure the maximum potential of our human resources are being realized.

You will be one of seven members of our “L10” leadership team and will be a direct report to the CEO. JPS Graphics is in growth mode and accelerating that growth through our people is a top priority. You will be empowered (and expected) to recommend new ideas and perspectives that allow us to transform the role of human resources from administrative to strategic.

You will ensure an outstanding employee experience through all 3 phases of the employee lifecycle
– 1. Talent Acquisition 2. Talent Development 3. Talent Retention & Recognition.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS NEEDED 

  • College Degree
  • At least 3-5 years of previous experience working in a human resources department, but previously leading a human resources team is NOT expected
  • Having a passion for people and a core belief that they are the company’s most valuable asset
  • Implementing new ideas and proactively managing the rollout of new programs and initiatives
  • Quick learner, great collaborator, and adept communicator
  • Effective at managing conflict and serving as the face of the company when employee-related issues arise
  • Ability to multi-task and balance both “running the business” responsibilities with new “change the business” initiatives

WITHIN ONE MONTH YOU'LL

  • Partner and transition with the outgoing HR lead to onboard
  • Have one cycle of reviews of our current systems, processes, and employee related procedures
  • Have developed a relationship with our receptionist who will aid in executing the office management-related responsibilities

WITHIN THREE MONTHS YOU'LL

  • Be proficient at the recurring, administrative activities that HR is oversees
  • Be sharing employee-related updates at our weekly company-wide meetings
  • Be regularly contributing new ideas and perspectives at our weekly L10 leadership meetings

WITHIN SIX MONTHS YOU'LL

  • Have a prioritized set of HR-related initiatives that you want the organization to pursue
  • Meet regularly with fellow L10 meetings to ensure you’re partnering with them to deliver the support they need
  • Take on ownership of one of our 3-7 company-level quarterly “rocks” that is a priority for the quarter
  • Have onboarded new team members and partnered with L10 leaders to design cross-training programs for existing team members
